Tough Conditions at Laxey

Cal Partington leads Mike Quine, Rich George and Rich Sille at Johns CairnIn terms of navigation this afternoon’s event was the most testing this season with driving rain, thick mist and at times a strong head wind. Well done to all those who took up the challenge.

Simon Skillicorn took the honours, with Tom Cringle, in arguably his best result to date, a superb second. Well done to Tony Okell, who has had a patchy season due to illness, in third and first vet 40.

Cal Partington, unperturbed by the conditions, finished a superb 10th overall, with Rose Hooton’s experience of the Manx hills showing, in second. Gail Griffiths in her first fell race this season was third.

  1. Many thanks to all concerned for putting on another great race today. Thanks especially to John Corlett for allowing us access to his land and thanks to the marshals for volunteering their services on such a lousy day. Great to see Mike Q back on the fells too.

Highlight of the day for me was bumping into Dave Q & Geoff H (who were lost also!) arguing over which way was North! “Is that Laxey?!?!”

See you all in the sunshine at Creg Ny Baa!

    Cheers
    Rich
