Manx teams in this weekends British Relay Championships
Two Manx teams will be traveling to the Bowland Fells in Lancashire this weekend to take part in the British Fell Relay Championships. Manx Fell Runners will be joined by a team from Manx Harriers to do battle against 60 other clubs from all parts of the British Isles. Many of these clubs will have 3 posssibly 4 teams entered and with 6 runners per team a massive entry is expected.
The relay consists of 4 legs with pairs running the first leg, solo second, pairs third and finally a solo efffort over the last leg. The third leg requires runners to be able to navigate themselves around a 6.5 miles unmarked route. Should be very interesting!
Manx Harriers
Leg 1 Paul Jackson/Bridget Kaneen
Leg 2 David Griffin
Leg 3 Andy Watson/ Dave Collister
Leg 4 Rich Sille
Manx Fell Runners
Leg 1 Cal Partington/ Rich George
Leg 2 Tom Cringle
Leg 3 Christine Barwell/ Godfrey Clayton
Leg 4 Simon Skillicorn
The two teams look fairly well matched so it will be a interesting side battle to be top Manx team.
Paul Sheard is also traveling with the team but he will run for Pudsey and Bramley his first claim club and Lloyd Taggart is expected to spearhead Dark Peaks assault on one of the most coveted titles in the fell running calendar.
