Peel Hill Race and Isle of Man Junior Fell Running Championships

Junior Fell Running ChampionshipsRound two of this year’s Winter Hill League takes place on Saturday 17th November 2007 at Peel.  This 3-mile race starts at 1.30pm outside the House of Manannan.  The course crosses the harbour bridge, before bearing left onto Raad Ny Foillan and the trail out to Corrins Folly.  It passes the Peel landmark down to the wall, before winding back on the left, up to the Folly once more and eventually taking the path back down to the finish.

The Junior Fell Running Championships over a shorter 1.75 mile course includes a challenging climb and descent.  Prizes are awarded to the top three boys and girls in each age category, with the Laxey Glen Mills’ trophy presented to the best-represented school.

Both courses will be flagged on the day.  Signing on is from 12.15pm to 1.15pm opposite The Creek.  Entry fees are £3 for club runners, £5 for unattached and £1 for juniors.  All competitors will be made most welcome at the post race prize presentation for the juniors in The Creek.  For further information contact Christine Barwell on 433264.

We are also looking for marshals to help out at this event ideally we need about four or five people.

If you can help out please contact MFR using the contact form on the site or by just commenting on this post.

Free chip buttys will be supplied to all volunteers!
