Marshals we`re getting there.
The new system for marshals is, so far, proving a success. From an organising point of view it makes life easier to know in advance who is marshaling and where they will be.
All the early season races are now covered but there are still quite a few gaps later in the year. There are a number of regular runners who have not volunteered as yet. The marshals chart will be at the forthcoming Greeba race and we will be pushing to get those who have been slow to respond to “sign-up” there.
If we manage to fill all the slots and there are still regular runners who have not volunteered then they will be asked to double-up on one of the races.
The committee of MFR accept that this system is by no means perfect and the last thing we want is to stop anyone from competing. However the marshaling situation over the last few years has become critical. If we can all co-operate and make this system work then we will have solved the marshaling problem completely, and don`t forget you can run every race if you can get someone to do your stint for you.
