Tough Conditions at Greeba
It was tough conditions all round for the 2008 Greeba fell race with a very wet course and a strong wind, but there was still an excellent turnout of over 40 runners taking up the challenge.![]()
The strong wind kept the winning times down on last year making the usually fast flatter run back to the Greeba summit from Colden a long, head winded graft.
Simon Skillicorn ran well and took the victory from Tom Cringle with Tony Okell making a welcome return to the manx fells in third position.
Cal Partington took the ladies win even with having to nurse a swollen knee after taking a tumble onto a rock. Rose Hooton was runner up with Bridget Kaneen a close third.
Full results thanks to manxtimingsolutions.com are available here and don’t forget to take a look at Stan Hall’s and Pauline Cringle’s pictures.
It was great to see some new faces on the fells with some good performances throughout the field, we hope to see you all at the new Arthur Jones race on the 24th February.
