I am due to marshall this race, but have a bit of a “clash”. Is there anyone marshalling a later race who would be willing to swap? I’d be very grateful….
Cheers!
Lewis
I’m not running next Sunday, if you want me to marshall for you just let me know. Cal
That would be great - thanks very much Cal! Let me know if there are any other dates you are due to marshal on, and I will return the favour.
Thanks again, Lewis.
Hi Guys,
Rob Sellors and me did a recce last night. I am not running in the racet but Rob is.
We went wrong right at the very start. Its not obvious where the start of the route is. We thought it was the footpath leading up at the top right of the car park.
…we ended far too high and far too North East, and it took a good hour to track back and find the first check point.
The start, and I stand to be corrected, is down the road from the car park about 50m (on the left hand side heading back to Ballaugh).
…if you get the start wrong, its pretty much pear shaped after that.
all the best, Dave
It must have been a tough recce Dave, climbing up through Ballaugh plantation by mistake!
You are correct the race starts at the entrance to the other track (50m down from the car park) which heads into Glen Dhoo.
you’re not kidding. although the tough bit was not the climb, but the traverse and descent back down to check point 1.
…character building stuff, very steep, and chest high gorse bushes
