James Coulson Laxey Fell Race next week
There is little time to rest after the very tough Narradale as the James Coulson Fell Race takes place on Saturday 6th September. The superb 8.5 miles course that is based at Glen Roy farm is the penultimate round of this years Rentokil Manx Fell League. It was originally scheduled to take place on the 14th but this would have meant a clash with the End to End bike race which a number of our runners are keen to enter.
Start time is 2.00pm so please sign on before 1.45pm.
All competitors are required to carry full safety equipment comprising waterproof jacket and bottoms, compass, whistle and map. There should be some maps available at the start for anyone who is stuck.
Anyone thinking of having a recce of the course should note that a major part of the course goes over private land and permission will be needed for access.
Marshals are required to cover the course. If you still havn`t done your obligatory marshaling stint then this is one of your last chances to qualify for the league. And don`t forget you can still run if you get a substitute marshal to cover for you.

In planning a recce of the course this week, please can you advise how I go about getting permission to run through the privately owned sections or has MFR been able to do this in advance for all runners?
Pleased to say that John Corlett whose land the race goes over has given his permission for anyone wishing to have a recce this week.
The route from the final checkpoint on the wall above Ballacowin Farm to the finish will not be marked until probably Thursday but it looks like it will be more or less the same as last year.
