Wet and Windy at Laxey
There was a strong Northerly wind and heavy rain for the 2008 James Coulson Classic Laxey Fell race. Racing was close through the field but Simon Skillicorn just took the victory (even after being slightly late for the start!). Tom Cringle finished a close second with Paul Sheard wrapping up the top three. An excellent run by Rich Sille taking fourth position from Steve Partington. Rose Hooton once again proved her strength and knowledge of the manx fells taking the ladies victory from Bridget Kaneen who was making a welcome return to the fells.
Thanks as always to the marshals and organisers, never a nice job when the weather is a bit nasty!

Good to see so many hardy boys and girls out for a windy trot over the hills.
Many thanks to all the marshalls who braved the gales and to James’ family for allowing us to use their land and the welcome tea and biscuits at the end.
Can’t wait to see what the weathers like for the last one.
See you all soon.
Dave.
Ditto - It can’t have been too pleasant for those who were stationary at the checkpoints yesterday in the very wet and windy weather.
Thanks
Bridget
