There are a few events and news coming up that I have received some direct contact and information for, see the details below.

IOMCC Race the Sun

A relay along the islands coastal footpath, about 98 miles.  It starts at sunrise and you must finish by sunset on Saturday June 27th, one of the longest days of the year. Sunrise is at 4.47am and sunset is at 9.55pm.

To secure your entry teams must pay a deposit of £50 and pledge to raise a minimum of £250 for the charity.

Record is 15hrs 37 minutes but I think an MFR team could better that!

I know there are a couple of MFR members looking to put in a team so if you are interested just post here or email mail@manxfellrunners.org in the first instance.  For more information on the event contact Mark Eastham adventuremann@iomcc.org.im.

Exmoor 30:30

This is a challenge that requires  teams of 5 to carry 30lbs over 30 miles of Exmoor in a timed competition held in aid of:

- St John Ambulance
- Royal British Legion
- Help For Heroes
- Army Benevolent Fund
Registration is free but participation does require each team member to raise £1,000 for the team’s selected charity.
