Creg ny Baa 2009
Round nine of the Rentokil Fell League, the Ian Ronan Joiners sponsored Creg Ny Baa Fell Race, is scheduled for Sunday 23rd August with a 10.00pm start. The 10 miles course will be run in the reverse direction again this year which means two huge climbs, one from the East Baldwin Valley to the top of Benn Y Phott and the other from the Millennium Bridge to the summit of Snaefell.
These climbs contribute to a final total ascent of 2,700ft. The start and finish will be at the Bungalow. Any runner who expects to take over 1hr 50mins to complete the course will have the option of starting at 9.30am. Please sign in before 9.15am for the early start, before 9.45am for the main start.
It will be mandatory for all competitors to carry full safety gear. There will be a kit inspection before the start. Minimum age 18 years on race day.

A few people have enquired about where the checkpoint at the Baldwin Valley will be situated. It has been placed at the bottom of the wall just over the stream. In other words after visiting the checkpoint you will ascend towards Benn Y Phott with the wall on your lefthand side. This is to avoid having to go over any fences. Hope this is clear to everyone
Also the first checkpoint on Mullagh Ouyr will not have a punch. All competitors just need to touch the cairn.
