MMM Route Change - Important Information
Unfortunately due to land access restraints the route of the 2009 Manx Mountain Marathon has had to be changed for the first leg from the start in Parliament Square Ramsey to Checkpoint 1, North Barrule Summit.
The route no longer ascends through Elfin Glen to join the fell but goes up through Ballure Plantation, past Ballure reservoir and follows the public footpath on the outside of the plantation. At the top of the plantation there will be a flagged route leading the runners to the kissing gate at approx Grid SC453915 to access the fell.
Once through the gate any route can be used to get to the North Barrule summit, access to the fell for recceing and on race day must be via the kissing gate and no fences can be crossed.
