Please be advised that this part of the route is private land and not a public right of way, this means that the land cannot be accessed prior to the Mountain Marathon, we have gained access for the day.

The IOM Southern Motorcycle Club are holding an event over this land on Easter Sunday, so there may be people and bikes around this area marking the course, they are aware that there will be a number of Fell runners passing through! but please take care when going through this section.

The motorcycle club will be putting out markers for there race, please ensure that you do not end up following these flags, the MMM route markers will be larger red and white markers and should be obvious.  I would reccommend taking a look at this area of the route on a map to make sure you are happy with where you are going, after Slieu Whallion you just need to stick to the main path which descends and joins the obvious path towards the Garey Gate, this is a counter checkpoint and you must pass through.  After descending off Slieu Whallion the route to the Garey Gate is fairly flat, if you find yourself descending through more fields chances are you have gone off route!
